this is the most important thing i will ever reblog

reblogging for the last one: the teacher from sandy hook who was gunned down after hiding her entire second grade class in a closet and telling the shooter that her class was in the gym. she made sure to tell each child that she loved them before she left them, knowing that those might be the last words they would ever hear.

This literally broke my heart, there are tears in my eyes

When I was younger, I wanted to believe in a magic town, where nothing bad could ever happen. I wanted to believe everyone was kind, and good, and just. I wanted to believe hard work was rewarded, and if you walked the straight path you found that peace you were searching for.

This is the way the world spins: people want to believe the best, but they’re always ready to fear the worst.

Robert McCammon

It made me sad, in a way I couldn’t understand, because I saw how there is an end to all things, no matter how much we want to hold on to them.
